A life transformed
As Ryan grew with her mom, he was abandoned by the father in Kawempe, Uganda since the day he was overthrown away from the house.
He was then hospitalized for 1 month and Kawempe clinic treatment, where the doctor contacted OCIA.
“I had no idea what he’d been through,” his dedicated guardian said. “He kept his eyes closed all the time and never complained of anything except for when he was hungry.”

He recovered well. He’s now a happy, healthy 9-year-old, who feels safe, loved and supported.

COVID-19 Appeal
There is a catastrophe unfolding on our doorsteps and within our communities. COVID-19 now promises to bring untold suffering to the poorest, most fragile communities in the world.
OCIA is positioned to make a critical contribution to this collective action but to do this we need your help. The communities we serve need us to act. We are determined to do just that.

You can donate a hand-washing station enabling 150 people to access water to wash their hands and reduce the risk of infection.

You can donate vital supplies of disinfectant, masks, soap and sanitizer to a community of 250 people enabling them to protect themselves and help prevent the spread of the virus.

You can donate for a trained COVID-19 worker to support three communities for one month, communicating urgent life-saving messages about prevention and protection as well as providing psychological first aid for children and adolescents affected by the pandemic.
